Default New guy from the land of Lincoln!! Illinois

Hey guys,

I'm kinda sorta new, been a member on the page for a bit but not enough to get familiar with it. I bought my first cub 123 about 2.5 years ago and have had an addiction to them ever since (my wife hates it)!!!! I currently have in my collection a cub 70s(x2), 86, 123, 127,106(parts tractor), 1450 restored but still working.
My question is, my 127 had the serial number 307001 so is that the second one off the assembly line? just curious. I would load pictures but there all on my phone (don't know how anyway). I usually post on facebook a lot but would love to learn this site as well thanks a lot fellas

Where in Illinois are you?

Yep, I'd keep that 127. It is #2 of that series. First one may not have necessarily been a 127, yours may actually be the first 127 made!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
