Default Haban 402D Sickle Bar

I have a line on a Haban 402D sickle bar mower. I don't have anything it fits but it looks like a neat piece of equipment. From what I can tell it looks complete and although it's stored outside it's not in too bad shape. The only thing I see missing is the sheetmetal side guard with the Haban logo on it. Now the big question, what's it worth? I can't really use it on my supers without some mods but I know it is a desirable piece, he is asking around $400 for it. He said it came from a narrow frame Cub Cadet which would be correct for the "D" in the model number.

I have a 402-E that I modified a mule drive so that it fits a 1641. Timcrutcher has one on a Super. Evil machine, cut's 1" pine trees like they aren't even there.

I had mine on my 1450 at one time. It looked like I just needed to move the drive pulley a little for it to work. It might be worth putting on your 1650 to try.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
