Default But Sweetie I really need this.

On the way home from a trip to the grocery store with my wife, I took an alternate way home past a little shop that always has a bunch of used lawn and garden stuff strewn about outside. As we passed by I noticed a familiar color and shape of an object that I decided warranted a second look. I turned the truck around, went back, and found a set of side panels for a later model 1863 laying against the side of the building. One of them had a crack in the side but the pins weren't in to bad condition. A quick scan of the grounds revealed a model 317 GT deck that was fairly rusty with some small holes but appeared to be in very good condition otherwise. The rollers, wheels, bushings, blades, and spindle bearings all looked and felt good. After a quick walking tour around the property with the owner we settled on that a $50 bill would suffice. Got everything loaded up and headed home, fortunately we were close to home, because I had to try to explain why I "needed" this "junk". I really can't believe she actually called it junk!!! What do women know anyhow. On to the mandatory pictures.

Good deal! I'd say there is $50 worth of usable stuff on that deck. That makes the panels FREE!!!

Having another mower deck in reserve is always a great idea IMO.

Women do shoes, men do tractors, just the way it is.

What spouses of tractor lovers know, is without some moderating influence, there'd be no room on the old homestead for anything else, except for the hauler, to bring in more...!

How many times have I heard " Your running out of room, where are you gonna put that?" or "you're gonna have to get rid of something before you bring any thing else home?" There is only so much space out behind the garage that she can't see from the window.

Maybe the next time we go on a pickup run we should say were going for shoes I have plenty of room in my Cub closet for more shoes. I like yellow & white shoes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
