How are you guys getting them to fit? The owners manual does not cover installation. When you move the plates in there is nothing that centers the unit. Washers? What about the mount? Drill holes and bolt, well "hitch" on tractor????

The last letter in QA42 "A" is for "adjustable" the center plate have 8 holes, use the narrow one but don't torque your bold completely, you install the belt and slide down the center plate as far you can to apply tension to the belt, now you torque your 4 center plate bold and adjust the belt tension with the side butterfly nut.
I remove the front thrower completely, I adjust the PTO adapter alone, much easy to deal with I think....It work for me PS:Look in the manual for the "How to" adjust the bolt under the center plate.

I had clearance issues when I mounted a qa42a on a 147. The lift rod will lay on the footrest and the front axle. I ended up adding a higher hole in the lift handle bracket and building a extension on the blower lifting point. Also I bolted the quick attach bracket to the tractor on each side with a 1/2" bolt to make it more rigid.

There are 1" wide bushings on the adjustable shaft. What tractor are you putting this on?

Well there is my problem. No bushings. I'll have to get some at tractor supply tomorrow. It must be a pain to get the rear nut behind the frame. Not a lot of room behind there. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
