Default Anyone ever seen one of these ?
I saw this today. It's a 50s/60s Nike missile site, pretty cool place.Can't get in the batteries till spring as they are locked up. Has anyone else ever seen one.

I'm Surprised that all that wasn't removed. Used to be a bunch of minute man missle sites around here. After they closed them , I think they filled them all in. Cool pics! Be careful that the guys in black SUVs don't show up when your looking around!

They actually sell these sites to civilians. Several old missile sites have been turned into homes. In at least one case a flooded silo is used for scuba diving by a diving club.

Strange but true, the school I attended in kindergarten was one of these sites. I was too young to know that at the time, and the next year our town opened a new, larger school. Now it's a regional special education center.

Along US 50 Highway between Kansas City and Jefferson City were hundreds of Minuteman sites, controlled from Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster. They were filled in, but many have the chain fencing still up and I often see farmers storing their large hay bales inside.

There is one in SE Indiana that has been turned into a home. I was told the owner has a swimming pool inside. I have never seen it, but have heard about it.

Yep Stanton you are right! And along hwy 5 and hwy 135. I can remember seeing Air Force trucks there when I was younger.

There's a few of them left around Cleveland's perimeter.
They were to guard the steel mills from Russian bombers.
If you Bing it, there should be a website out there that lists them all by state.
