Good thing I wasn't around, I would have pulled the kid off that thing then beat the crap out of the sperm donor, can't call him a father because no responsible father would put his kid at risk like that. Rant Over!

stupidity is no excuse but this is the way the guy got it and i would assume he thought it was safe because the previous owner used it this way... some people just dont know about engines. im pretty sure i can put gov. stuff back in it. the guy i got it from said it dont have original crank and has high compression so much starter struggles badly with it and it has race fuel in tank. i have a really nice 1440 sittin here got without motor and rear end is locked up (when we tried to move it under its own power it would kill motor both forward and reverse) we pulled the motor for a nice 1211 we have. kinda thinkin since the 1440 has manual lift anyways it will make a good home for the stick trans outta this puller.

not so sure i understand why he woulda welded the gov and the comp release i would think if you just unhook the lever the gov is inop

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
