Another Old Guy Here
I found my way over here at the suggestion of Sam Mac. Looks like a good bunch.
I've been playing with old iron since the early 1970s. I've owned my 122 since then. It has been worked hard, put away wet a few times and I have strong suspicions that my boys used it as an 'off road vehicle' at times. I was having breakfast with a friend and told him I plan to freshen the 122 up when he told me about a non running 2182 that he has and wanted to get rid of. I have not picked it up yet but will do so when the road to the barn where it is stored dries out. Early Ford tractors have been my toys for years but I no longer own any Fords. Just the 122, a modern Deere 4300 with a loader and two old Ford trucks. Kinda anxious to get into the 2182 |

Glad to have you here on OCC. You'll have fun. 2182's are killer machines. Or as I call them the last of the best. Questions about the 2182 fit in this area, "CCC/MTD Cub Cadet built Tractors (GT)" See you there. Mac.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
