Once I get healed up from knee surgery, I am contemplating buying a chipper to keep ahead of the ever growing piles of branches and the like on my property. I have been looking at the DR models and was wondering if anyone out there has any thoughts or experience with these? Is there a comparable model?
Thoughts???

Can't comment on the DR models
I have an old Might Mac that works rather well for its size but I usually end up renting an 12" chipper for a day. The time it saves over the smaller models pays for the yearly rental fee

I thought about renting one, but it seems like a never ending issue with all the trees and brush that is on the back part of my property.

You may want to look at other options, DR tends to be a bit pricy. These are some sold by Northern tool.

Check Craigslist for older Troy-Bilt chippers (pre-2001). They are very well made. Once MTD bought them quality went down hill. But maybe that's what it takes, because even though the product was good quality they were going out of business .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
