1782 driveshaft
Hey everyone, I'm new the the sight.. I just bought a 1782 and love it, it's got only 906 hrs on it and its pretty clean! Besides the common broken plastic at the hinges, everything is in good working order. Now for my request.. The other morning I was driving around my garden, and it felt as if it slipped out of gear, and made a terrible noise, I quickly shut her down, and later to discover the driveshaft had striped the teeth of the boot coupling and the shaft on the motor side I was wondering if anybody out there has a spare, or would be willing to sell me one? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the grass is really growing.. Thanks so much

Sounds like it wasn't greased, those normally are not a problem. Just my 2 cents but I'd replace the whole thing if it was worn enough to spin in the ball ends. Here is a link for a new one. http://www.greatoutdoorpowersports.c...UT//759-3615/1 Link to how to post pics. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=1024 1782 belongs in the CCC/MTD Cub Cadet built Tractors (GT) section.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
