Default Picture of the Week: May 24, 2015

Alright guys, here's the deal: POTW submissions are not coming in like I'd like to see them. Some weeks I get a submission a mere day or two before Sunday so a lot of the time I run the risk of not having a submission for a given week. I told this to Sam earlier this week (at which time I didn't have anything for this week submitted) which is why he posted the "No submissions, no POTW" thread. Some of the guys here are good about getting pics in and thank you for that! But with the amount of great pics I see posted here on an almost daily basis, there is no excuse for a POTW shortage. So I'd like to ask a favor of you guys; when you see someone post a pic you'd like to see featured, speak up to that member! I'll be the first to admit I need to improve on this as well so I will be working on this, asking more people to submit. I think a lot of people here that aren't seniors or regulars don't necessarily know about POTW. So let's encourage them! I love doing this and I know you guys love seeing the pics so let's all work together and keep this great weekly feature going!!

Now that I'm done with my rant, without further adieu, here's this week's POTW!

This weeks submission is sent to us by local member Richard M Strauss. Richard comments "Wife spreading mulch. Cub is a 169, has original 13 fin K341, round fenders from a Sears, antique Ford car steering wheel, ATV tires" Thanks for the submission Richard!!!

When I look @ that pix I envision an advertising brochure, or a cover photo for
Better homes and gardens.
Tastefully done!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
