Homemade deck for a wide frame?
Has anyone scratch built a mowing deck ? I am really thinking about building a shell and using my existing decks spindles and such. Just wondering if anyone else has done this?

No reason you couldn't build one if you have the tools and skill to do it.

I've thought about building one before but figured that decks are so easy to find around here its not worth it.

I could see this being sensible, if you were going to build something like a 60" haban or similar. Other than that the 50" and below are out there and cheep. But if it's just to do it then Hey knock it out.

I had thought about building a 48" deck shell until a friend gave me a shell in great condition. I was going to make it from stainless to eliminate the chance of it ever rusting thru.
