Hydraulic assist front axle on a 125
Hello, I am trying to figure out how to tap into the hydrostat transmission to power a hydraulic motor for a hydrualic assist front end on a cub cadet 125. I dont know exactly how the hydrostatic transmission works with the check vavles and the ports and which side is forward and reverse. If any one has more information on how the hydro,s are ported and direction of flow it would be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to tap into the forward/ reverse flow of the Sunstrand Hydro units.

The ONLY way to get anything out of a hydrostatic transmission (other than it's intended use) is to get a ported pump out of a later model tractor (most normally one with a hydraulic lift).
Using the ports on the pump you can power whatever you like, providing that you don't run the trans-axle too low on fluid to operate/cool properly. I don't believe that there is enough flow from the "ports" to do what you want though.

Yes, but that does not tie into the forward and reverse section of the hydro unit. It supplies "power beyond". It's just a hydraulic pump. Plus, it wouldn't put out enough flow to run a hydraulic motor for front wheel power assist.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
