Your thread you posted the other day got me thinking about putting this unused tractor and generator to maybe some good use.

So you plan on permanently mounting the generator off the front? Lot of weight on the front end. No?
When I started reading this thread I envisioned a small Driveshaft with flexible couplers to a generator that was on casters and hooked to the front of the tractor like a snow plow. Or maybe some easy hookup to the front PTO Now that I'm saying this, My friend has an old Kohler generator/welder with no engine. He's on the fence about keeping it but hates to just scrap it. Hmmmm

Yes, lot's of weight on the front end. Maybe a little more weight than a snowblower but the K series isn't as heavy as a Magnum.
I can't do much right now. I messed up both shoulders so I'm just thinking about this project and want to use things I already have. I'd envisioned the engine driving both the generator/welder and the tractor. |

Both shoulders Yuck.
I've had 5 shoulder operations 2 on one shoulder and 3 on the other, 3 open operations and 2 Orthroscopic I hope your injuries do not require operations. How would you bolt it to the motor and yet have it run in neutral when not needed? Were you thinking of it always running the generator but then drive the tractor with the running load of the generator? Will the engine start while having the generator load on it?

The welder/generator looks very similar to this one.

Look at the parts list for a 1282 it will bolt in a 82 series frame with a lower Quietline mount that has crossmembers welded in it and two adapters to bring it to drivelive angle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
