If the muck is still wet, will you going to get traction with any type of tire?

Are you cleaning silt from a concrete/asphalt/gravel surface or from grass/yard/dirt?

Scraping wet silt from a hard surface will be slick as "heck" no matter what. Almost like being on ice.
Good points!! I'm cleaning it from all of the above except concrete, its thickest on the gravel and then the grass. I know from my off road mudding days a tire designed for the mud needs to be self cleaning and have a aggressive tread. I think maybe the ultimate answer would be a open tread with a lot of weight AND chains to help dig and find traction in the semisolid surface under the muck and hope for the best ?? When I get my new gopro I'll post some action shots.

I have a 1572 with turfs, chains, weights and filled. I also have a 1772 with ags, weights and filled. Every year we go to plow day. Most years there is quite a bit of mud. Every year the turfs and chains have out performed the ags. In fact I have pulled the 17 out of the mud many times with the 15. I have found the best traction is when I over inflate the tires to tighten the chains. I am a lot heavier than my son who is usually on the 17 (150lbs) so I have switched several times but the results are the same. Turfs and chains better. Over the years I have compared them on different surfaces and conditions. I have found the Turfs were always equal to or better than the ags.

Plus tall and skinny to cut thru the mud and get to the traction stuff. But if your dragging axles, etc. your not going far.

check these out:

26x12-12 6 ply 33/32" tread 33lbs $90

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
