CC 1541 Blade
Does anyone know if a blade that was on a 1641 will fit on a 1541? I read something about requiring a rock bracket! Is that a must if this blade does not have one? Are there any sites that display how to mount a plow on a 1541? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving. :Thanks

Plow should mount OK but you'll need the connection parts for the lift like on a 782.
I'm moving this thread to the implements section. Lift rod should attach to the lift on the right hand side of the frame. You should have something that looks like this pic. Hook up the lift rod in one of the holes shown here in red. Not sure if you have 2 holes on a 1541. Pic is from an earlier model. You may also need to play with the length of the lift rod.

CC 1541 Plow
Thanks for the great pic. Got the blade home, painted and mounted. Had a lot of surface rust to deal with. I used Rustoleum Rust Reformer after sanding to see if its any good under primer and top coat. Time will tell. Was hoping that the blade would lift higher to push back snow banks. Oh well, will just have to attach them at full throttle.

On my 1641 I had to extend the lift rod approx. 2". Added the casting for the lift, $50 new.

Blade lift CC 1541
Great information...The blade is a done deal. I added teflon to the cutting edge and power angle. The lift distance on the blade is only around 3 inches. Has anyone found a way to increase the lift distance? A higher blade would be more effective in pushing back higher snow banks, if we ever get snow here... : )

The lift arm on the tractor would have to be longer or/and the actuator arm on the blade would have to be shorter. That would increase the travel of the blade.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
