1541 shift linkage adjustments
I came across the attached CC service bulletin that explains how to increase the reverse speed on the machine by moving the cam pivot bracket and it goes on to state that the connecting rod may need adjustment to get the proper shift lever position. I attempted this and am having a hard time getting the neutral position correct on the shift lever with the cam pivot bracket as specified on the bulletin. The trunion springs and bracket have been replaced and I am wondering if wear on other components may be causing the problem. I would hate to soak yet more moola for parts into this machine to find that the problem lies elsewhere. Any ideas/suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks
