Bicycle/Cub Cadet color
One of my other interests besides Cub Cadets is Schwinn bicycles, built before 1980. More specifically the Chicago built Schwinn bikes. (Hey, I like Chicago companies, what can I say?) I recently bought a 10 speed Schwinn Sports Tourer in yellow, and was comparing it to my 147
  The bike is far from where I'd like it. I was just drawn to the color difference. Cub Cadet yellow would NOT look good on a Schwinn and Schwinn yellow would NOT look good on a Cub Cadet.

Even has yellow tires. Wonder if they make yellow tires for a cub?

I don't use my Cub. I just work on it and look at it. So far it's holding up very well.

Don't park them too close together and no one will know it's not a Cub Cadet Schwinn...

The pre 1980s bikes are more desirable (to me) because in the 80s the factory closed in Chicago and the bikes were either made in Mississippi or many of them were repainted frames bought from overseas companies like Giant or Panasonic. This particular bike frame was made by hand, not on a welding machine like a Varsity/Sting ray etc. I'm not a fan of the yellow tires. Those are going to go bye bye.

Daniel I disagree, I think Cub Cadet yellow looks great on a Schwinn. Here is a 1977 Schwinn Caliente, I bought new in 77. It was one of the first big things I bought myself as a kid. I saved and saved it was close to $200.00 back then. I bought it to ride to the Jersey shore, 96 mile trip myself and 2 other friends took that summer. After college it was looking a bit worn so I decided to paint it. I disassembled it and stripped the old paint. It sat that way for 30 years in my barn. Last summer I decided to finish it. Looked on the shelf and I had plenty of Cub Cadet yellow and white so that's what I used. I think it came out great. For some reason the only thing I was missing was the rear wheel. It has the free wheeling hub. All I could find was a 24" wheel so I cut the hub out and re laced a larger wheel. I was going to put Cub Cadet decals on it but decided to go with original Schwinn.

That's a neat idea. It's almost like Cub Cadet partnered with Schwinn to do a give away of a Cub Cadet colored Schwinn bicycle for a promotion or contest.

Sweet rides ...I gots a 72?
Viscount death fork ...never knew much about it until.some bike racers starred,admired at it and said you need to replace that fork.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
