M48 Hydro Pump
I just bought an M48-KHS and the left hydro pump is leaking. Do any of you know who the OEM is and their part number? I would like to order seals and bearings so that I can rebuild the pump. The Cub Cadet parts sites seem to only want to sell the entire unit.
Thanks, Mike

If seals and bearings are what you want, just go through a bearing/seal company. Name of the manufacturer should be on the pump, along with a model number.
You likely won't be able to find a kit from the manufacturer. They are not considered "re-buildable". |

I had a similar situation with my green zero turn. They wanted to sell me a $2,000 dollar hydro. Did tons of research and found that Simplicity used the same one in one if their models. Low and behold, I got an exploded view diagram of it. I think mine ended up being an Eaton unit. Good luck!

Thanks!
Thanks for the input. I'll take it apart and go from there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
