Default Need some info on 102 and a 1864 !

I just looked at a 102 with a creeper gear , working deck , snowthrower , chains and NOS weights .

This women also has a 1864 in ahha shape . Deck locked up , broken hood , the normal rust . I saw that it had power steering though and looked to have hydro lines so I'm imagining PUMPS of course . I know 1872s and 2072s basicly . What kind of goodies could be parted off the 1864 and what do you feel would be a good offer on the 102 ? She has to get rid of them both because her husband died so I'm trying to help out without getting burned . Dave 443-528-0115

There are all kinds of goodies, engine, splined axles, ported pump, complete part out will make others live, even the steering wheel.

$400 is a good offer on the 102,is it a keeper?

i think between $400 and $500 would be fair for the 102 with the options you have listed.

Thank you all ! ACecil called and we had a nice discussion about the hydraulics on the 1864 . I'm going to make a fair offer on the 102 and go with the parts price on the 1864 . I figure I could keep a few older " Supers " going with the pumps and power steering parts etc .

I truly appreciate everyone's fast responses here as this was very very short notice and CC didn't have much time to make a decision . Thanks again Allen and ALL ! Dave .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
