2082 needs work to do work
Well as some of you may remember, the cubs and I recently moved. The wife insisted on coming, so I said what the heck. Anyway, while we were moving I went to start the 2082 to put it on the trailer, and no go. No fuel. Towed it on the trailer. So now we're kind of settling in, and I need this tractor as it will mow much more comfortably than my 1650. I got the 2082 running, but very poorly. So, it's time....
Here are issues that need addressed: I need some help with these. 1. Carb needs rebuilt. I've never done this. I have the manual printed out in a binder, so I figure it's in there. Follow the instructions, right? Is this all I need? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-R...oAAOxyXDhSlVah 2. Remote oil filter is leaking from somewhere near the filter. Should be easy to find once I clean it up a bit to see. 3. Ignition switch doesn't kill the engine. This is new. As in a week ago. This tractor sometimes didn't like to start and you would have to wiggle the switch. So when I moved in I took it out, cleaned all corrosion off and put a dab of electrical grease on each connector. Cleaned the harness also, but the black wire had obliviously got hot at one time. Melted the connector a little. I secured the wire and plugged everything back in and it's worked since, no issue. Not sure if these things could be connected. 4. Bendix not going out. I pulled the shroud to get to the starter. Manually pulled the bendix out, and hit it with the smallest shot of WD-40. Worked so far, no issue. It usually would hit once out of 10 turns of the key. I'm leaving the cover off for a bit to make sure it keeps working. |

While you have the tins off check the head gaskets for signs of leaking, good luck with the project.

So this is the carb I have. It's a walbro. Looks to be adjustable. This is a good one correct, not one of the non adjustables. That leads me to which carb kit I need. I'm not sure to order the PN/ KH-25-757-02 or PN/ KH-25-757-01 kit.

Yes, it's adjustable. A good Walbro.
You need kit 25-757-11. It will have all the gaskets you need to mount the air cleaner and the carb. Plus, it's the one for that carb. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
