Cub Cadet 124
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have a 1969 Cub Cadet model 124. It has a 12 HP Kohler and runs great. It has a 48" cutting deck, and a 42" snow plow/dozer blade. I have chains for the rear tires, an owners manual and some spare parts for the PTO clutch. I figure that you folks would be the best forum to give me an idea of what the whole group should sell for. I could split them up but I would prefer to keep it all together for one price. Any advice you could provide would be helpful. Thanks. Nice looking 124. Deck and snow plow look good too. Some optional accessories that add to the value are headlights, sleeve hitch, creeper gear, hydro lift. Might be attractive to more buyers if split up

Cub Cadet 124
Rmowl,
Thanks for the review. Would you have any conception of what this type of tractor with the equipment might be worth if I am going to sell it? The tractor is in good shape and runs pretty well. It smokes a little on start up. The deck is solid and would look great with a coat of paint. The snow plow is also in great condition and a fresh coat of paint wold make it look like new. The whole thing is rounded out with a set of chains and the spare clutch disc. Do you know if it would be worth $600-$700? or am I out of the ball park? Tom |

$600 is pushing it in my area... but you could probably get that pretty easy.
Tractor has no options. Maybe $400 for it, but the seat is pretty bad. That's an easy $80 part. Deck looks nice, and you have chains and a blade. Chains: $60. Blade: $100/125. So, yeah, $600 is about right. |

I gave $550 for my 124 couple years back. It has headlights, sleeve hitch, deck, rear light, and came with a no. 2 cart w ez vac panels. I bought it from the original owners next door neighbor. It gets the most use out of all the other ones as its my daily mower. I see yours doesn't have a sleeve hitch can't see whether or not it has headlights or creeper. With the implements though $600 isn't out of line. But gotta wait for somebody that needs all that.

Cub Cadet 124 valuation
Gentlemen,
I really appreciate all of the responses and information. I realize that It is only worth what a willing buyer is comfortable paying. I hope I can find the right buyer who has the same appreciation of these solidly built machines. It surprises me sometimes that if you strip it down and just sell off parts it could fetch more then a completely assembled running machine. I suppose it's just the way it is. I was looking up parts for a Cub Cadet on IHCCW and Wow. Example: Set of rear tires and rims- $150 + shipping 48" mower deck - ~ $200 +ship 42" snow plow/dozer blade - ~$275 + ship Mule drive for deck - ~$75 + ship PTO clutch - ~$100 Pan seat ~$80-$100. 12 HP Kohler with Carb - ~$200. Model 123 good condition with no attachments- ~$500. + ship Thanks again for you information and taking the time to respond. Tom |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
