Haban (cub 374) 60" deck on 1572

I am looking to install my 60" deck off a 982 on my 1572. I am missing the rear stabilizer bar ( looks like a "T") and pin that go through the brackets on my frame and rides in the saddle on the rear of the deck. Can I mow without it or will it move around too much and hurt something else. Thanks

Not to be a smarty pants but its supposed to be there for a reason. Those decks put a lot of strain on the mule drive, lift links, gauge wheels etc. Never had any dealings with a 1572, just relating what I have observed/repaired on my 982 and 2072, both with Habans.
By the way, how early of a 60" deck do you have? The one on my 982 doesn't have front gauge wheels, puts a lot more weight on the tractor when mowing when compared to the 2072 with front gauge wheels.

When I got a 60" deck for my father's 1872, I was in the same situation. I first fabricated the pin myself using a piece of stainless steel rod from mcmaster-carr. It wasn't that hard to do. The t-bar took a little longer to locate one. I ended up getting one that needed to be built up since it was worn at the up-right part of the "T" that slides between the brackets and is captured under the pin I fabricated. When all done, the deck hooked up fine, however it initially would eat the drive belt that went from the tractor to the main drive pulley, in one mowing. The pulleys on the mule drive needed to have their alignment tweaked so walls of the pulley lined up with the belt path.
