Default 982 w/50" mower, front hydro, 3pt, PTO, dual brakes

Hi Gents,
I am planning to sell my 982, as my mowing acreage just went up. Love the tractor, but I just don't have the time to spend on what is about to increase to 6+ acres. Trying to get to a fair price, one that someone on this forum would be willing to pay to keep and use this machine, rather than just CL it to someone.

The hour meter is dead, so I have no idea the hours. THe original Onan runs very well, but has developed an oil leak. I suspect the drain plug, but have not had time to properly diagnose. Steering and hydro drive controls have the typical slack. Front and rear PTOs operate properly, 3Pt and deck hydraulics work properly. Mower starts and runs great, and I currently mow about 4 acres weekly. Front tires are new, rears look original. It has all the tin, but the mounts are weak.

It has:
50" mower, works properly
Split/dual brakes
Front remote hydraulics
3pt hitch (OEM, I believe)
Rear PTO
Original Onan B48G 20hp twin
(No other attachments)

While I have owned it (going into 4th season), it has rec'd decent maintenance, and the previous owner did a good job, it seemed. Unknown maintenance prior.

I have replaced the entire shaft assembly between motor and hydro, and a few other odds/ends, but no major work.

Thoughts on price?

Pics would help alot, if its mechanically sound and the paint is decent then you can expect to get between $1000 and $1500. You might get more if you list it on clist but be prepared to play the waiting game until the right buyer comes along.

In the middle of the country, something like that would fetch around 2500 plus or minus. 3pt n rear pto are the big selling points as you may know

Yeah, sorry about no pics yet. Prepping for big annual charity event for this weekend. Will try to upload a few as time permits.

Thanks to all the commenters, so far.

I'm going to have to lower mine to 1500$
Not for its condition but it's color.
Sad to say but if it was IH built it would be worth more.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
