They have a drain on the bottom in front next to the suction tube. A 3/8 ratchet will fit the plug.

Great thank you. My local dealer has hytran of course in stock. about 20.00 for a few gallons. Their mechanic was saying if its not dirty or burnt smelling to just do a filter change.. I dunno. I 'll just do the fluid to I think. For 20.00 it's cheap.

A little update. My newphew and I got to work lastnight. I've been a bad owner , the underside hasn't received a good washing in a long time. So we did that , greased every fitting I could find and changed the hydro fluid and filter. The oil was done 2 months ago. That's all we did and it ran fine around the yard. So I'll see what this weekend brings when I actually cut the grass and see how it behaves.
a couple of photos attached.

Just a FYI the drive shaft has 2 grease fittings that are often overlooked. One is just ahead of the fan at the transmission end and the other is just behind the rubber boot at the engine end. Kind of hard to get at the one next to the tranny without removing the tunnel cover.

Thank you. I did get the one infront of the fan. Didn't know of the one behind the engine. I'll see if I can get it. We did take the tunnel off to do the hydro filter change. I even just ordered new 5 inch wheels for the front of the deck and new belts. The belts just to have spares and the wheels cause 1 is really worn oddly from years of use. So I got new ones and new shoulder bolts. Why not give it more love if it's going to be working fine. Maybe even over the winter tear parts off and repaint / re graphic it..

I do still want to order a new grill for it. and a seat. The seat is really torn up and the duct tape the previous owner put on is coming off and it's just not looking to good.

I use seat covers like these rather than replacing the seat.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
