Cadet 85
Picked up this cadet 85 RER on Saturday at a swap meet along with an extra engine, a bagger, and an extra body for $50. Got it running and mowed the lawn with it. Here is a couple pictures of it with my 682 and a video of it running.

If you pop the clutch those do pretty good wheelies. At least that's what a younger me remembers from 30+ years ago when those were new.

Thanks everyone, I am happy with it. No, I didn't do any wheelies, but just letting the clutch out in 3rd full throttle leaves a nice skid mark in the grass

Drifting Cadet 85's
Maybe something new for the dirt tracks on the weekends....drifting Cadet 85's...... Wouldn't require to much space to have a good time with them.

Seems to work good.
I got myself one of those sitting back in the corner just waiting for the right time to bring it out and get it running... Just haven't figured out the right time yet.

A nice pick up IH.
Any plans for the spare body? A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 95e with a spare rolling chassis. I just started working on the 95, but have wondered if a 55/75/85 body would mount to the 95 chassis. We're both in Wi, so considering the potential might be worth a get together even if all I learn is that I am barking up the wrong tree. I'm new here, so I haven't quite figured out how everything works. It would be nice to figure out how to insert a smilie here and there. Mike |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
