A loader is the only way to deal with the snow IMHO, I have a blower, plow, broom and rear blade and I still think a loader is the best offense in any kind of snow.

I generally stick to just a blower if I can, mostly because of my terrain. The driveway is lower than the yard on both sides, and with the blade I run out of room quickly as the snowbanks build. Second problem, the blade likes to dislodge good sized rocks from the driveway. And third, the snowbanks the state puts at the end of my driveway are so big and dense that my blade can't push through them. I agree though, I could really use a loader about now! My snowbanks are too high for the blower to clear anymore

At least I kept the driveway as wide as possible, now I just have to let it close in a bit. Hopefully the storms stop before I run out of room!

Last Winter I completely missed a 12" snowfall because I had spent the night clearing 4" at a time, X3.

I read your comments to my wife,

but she thinks 8 tractors should be enough. I happen to agree with her but I am in the process of changing over to Cub Cadet and have only 2, the 1872 I bought about a year ago and a 1650 I've had for 24 years and has seen maybe 50 hours since I refurbed it shortly after buying it.

I'm already looking for another 1872 or 2072 to solve the problem long term.
I acquired another 1872 last Tuesday so I will do as suggested - plow on one and blower on the other.

and my brag, here is a photo of this one w/3pt. and rear pto.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
