Command 27 flooding
I am working on a Command 27 in a CC Tank zero turn that has a flooding problem. The po said it was always easy to flood. When cranking you have to quickly push the choke lever then pull it back or it floods. If it does flood then you have a nice long wait before the next attempt at starting. If it starts it will sit and surge for a couple of minutes then usually smooth out and you are ready to go. The carb has no adjustments on it but does have the diaphram on the side like all the higher hp kohlers do. Could the diaphram or hose from it to top of carb be leaking enough vaccum to make it not start right? I hate to put a $60 kit in it and that not be the problem. The thing runs like a beast if you can ever get it started.

Sounds like the carb is in need of a rebuild. Pump gives it a shot of gas just like a carb on a car when you jam it full open. Don't think that is the problem. More like the needle for the float is not sealing. Try starting it with out using the choke just give it a couple shots with the throttle before cranking. That should give it enough gas to fire. Worth a try.

I tried that but it would not do anything unless I gave the choke a quick flip forward then back. I got in it right so I guess I can spring for the kit. I mowed with it today and it did great but I would still rather have a tractor instead of a zero turn. I think I have it sold after I fix the starting problem so all is good.

It has the plastic float in it which the CC dealer says is not adjustable. I put the kit in it today and replaced the rotted vacuum lines. She fires right up every time which makes me happy. New front tire will be here in the morning and she will be off to her new home. The po stopped by today when he seen me on it. He wanted to buy it back but I already had it sold.
