682 is about the same as a 782 except for the hydraulic lift. I'd buy it. can you fix it and flip it, well that depends on what's wrong with it. If it has a ventilated block, your not going to fix it for $100.00.

I'd buy it and sell that 1650 but that's just me. Looks like a series 2 engine in it.
Once you step up to the 82 series you won't go back.

I'd be all over that for $250, there's a good bit of money to be made if all it needs is a carb rebuild and a battery but you should never trust the sellers word. I would also keep it and ditch the 1650 but I'd have to add hydraulic lift.

I like hydraulics. I would never sell a 1650 for a 682. 682s are basically a lawn mower. More power and an opposed twin. Big whoop. Id take a 12 hp with hydraulics over even a 22 horse and no hydraulics.
Ok, im done with rant! Good luck

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
