Default Cub Cadets Are Awesome

I am constantly amazed at how well these tractors handle the jobs given to them. Today after work, I started a project of removing two overgrown junipers in the front of my house. The one is easily 14' wide while the other is at least 11' wide. The main trunks are around 7-9" wide. I hate these bushes, and I don't know why I planted them 18 years ago. I have deer problems, and I think I liked that the deer did not bother them. Every year is a major hassle to keep them in bounds, and they were starting to look ugly. I also notice they have a powder/dust that makes me sneeze like crazy. Today, I was a little lazy--well not really I was just tired from working and then lifting weights--so I took the GT 2000 out and took a massive rope, tied them up, and on the 2nd or 3rd pull they were gone. What amazes me is the pulls were light--no spinning and jerking--and away they came. My old Sears Craftsman would have spun and done nothing. The Cub was definitely up to the challenge. I guess the old saying I remember is right, "Nothing runs like a Deere, but nothing pulls like a Cub."

Thanks Allen. I'm glad they're gone. I have to admit since tearing them out I've noticed my sinuses are glogged up. I noticed when I got them to the woods to cut up there was a lot of power/dust. I'm starting to think they may have been one of the cause to the family's allergy issues.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
