Mower deck
Where do the choices begin when it comes to a FABRICATED deck instead of a stamped one? Or do they even make an LT w/a fab deck?

Are you looking at new tractors or used?

Either or....Have a model 1525 38" that is on its second deck. Have some sandy soil in yard and it is rough on decks. Thought about a fabricated deck instead of stamped would give it a little more life.

Well, had this one rebuilt on the inside of the deck. So much welding that when trying to install on mower this morning, discovered it's warped about 2" from L to R. Been trying to fit deck belt and appears it's not going to go. I think deck is unusable. Am open to ANY suggestions outside of purchasing a new one (stripped) for $400 (3 for deck 1 for shipping)

Looks like you don't have any options, Cub parts site only shows the stamped 38" deck for that tractor. I'd look on C-list for a good used deck if it was me.

You had it rebuilt, or you rebuilt it? If someone else did it then have them straighten it. How is it warped, like a banana, twisted? If it's like a banana, I'd put a 4x4 under either side (crown up) and a 2x10 on the center and dive my car up the 2x10. if it's twisted, put an extra 2x4 under the low corner on each side then apply pressure from above. Maybe jack up a truck wheel then slowly lower the truck down once you have the deck setup under the wheel. What's the worst that happens, you bend it?
I'm sure you could support it with 4x4's and reshape it with a block of wood and a sledge hammer. That's how I got most or the tweak out of my O deck from a PO running into an immovable object. Bill |

Thanks for the replies, fellows. Brother in law came over and after further investigation, we discovered that the r/front wheel support, the piece that is welded to the main deck that the wheel bolts to, was re-welded crooked. Forgot that when explaining what needed to be done, that part slipped my feeble mind. It LOOKS like he welded it mis-aligned. Instead of jigging the entire part, then tacking in 3 places, then welding it, all would have been ok. But appears he held it up that looked ok to him, then he welded. B-I-L and I agreed that is where the problem lays. However after putting it together w/new blades and a amatuer paint job, it still cuts true. So looks like the problem is solved.

Not sure if this will fit your tractor but the price is right.

WOW! That is a deal, Sam, but unfortunately it is a 46" and mine is 38". To bad tho', anyone looking for this size should jump on it. Thanks for the posting. Got mine going again just don't know how long it will last. Paid a fellow $125 to rebuild the inside so time will tell....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
