Default 1772 Hydro linkage adjustment

Hi everyone I've got a 1772 that I rebuilt the rear end due to the ears being broke off on reduction gear housing. Had to buy a cam bracket and the neutral return rod due to the one that was on it was broke. I've got it all back together and it drives good goes into neutral from forward to reverse at idle fine but at full throttle when I go from forward to neutral I have to go halfway into reverse then back to neutral to get it to stop. My question is what is the proper procedure to adjust forward and reverse and the neutral return? : Thanks in advance!

The adjustment procedure it outlined in the manual.

Here is the link for your machine:
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=25397

I have not read that book, so if you can't find it, use this one. Procedure is the same, and I know it's in this one:

It doesn't sound like it is out of adjustment, as much as it sounds like you still have play in the linkage somewhere. It may be both loose components, and adjustment.

Josh,

I have sent both manuals to the email listed on your account. Please download and save them to whatever device you choose.

I sent this information in the email, but will share it here also:

The manual for the later series machines (your machine) does not include the adjustment procedure for the hydro linkage. I'm sure it was a goof on CCC's part. The last manual I can find it in is the one for the 1X8/9 and Quietline manual. I also included that manual. The procedure starts on page 2-56.

Holler if you need anymore help.

Sorry you couldn't get them to download. It has nothing to do with your privileges or account. It's likely a setting on your PC/device. Or they may just be too large. Both files are pretty big.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
