Come to think of it, the kids riding the pedal tractors I saw were closer to 10, it would be a bit much for the munchkins in your pic. It was mighty slow and they didn't go far, but it is a lot more weight than a standard pedal tractor so the gearing helps there.

My 3 yr old only wants to ride the O because she can steer it (and it's quieter). Find an O, remove the piston/rod from the engine, replace the S/G with a 12v dc motor and add a foot or hand switch. Turn it into a life size power wheels; with the engine still there the kids will think are are driving a real tractor. Because of all the gear reduction, you can run it in 2nd or 3rd gear to make it walking speed. You could add tether controls for the real little ones so all they have to do is steer. That way you can walk behind them and shut down power to avoid an accident.

You could put the Peg Perego Cub Cadet on an ATV. I did it with a Fisher Price F150 and a 110cc 4 wheeler.

I have three grandchildren that live next door,,,
so, I bought this cart off CL specifically to ride them.

Seldom a week goes by that we are not riding,,,

I like this cart because it is molded, no sharp edges, no splinters.

The diesel is easy on fuel during the long rides!!

Tim - if you decide on a format for your project, I have a 24V wheelchair motor that I would be willing to donate to your project, if it would work for you. It is in an old "Rascal" style three wheeled scooter that was my father's during the last part of his life here on earth. Given his love for his grandchildren (my daughters, now grown women) it would be a fitting use for the scooter parts. The scooter is still complete less batteries. You are welcome to any or all of it for the project. Stan Augustine

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
