First of all, welcome aboard!
The best thing to do is to post a picture or two so that everyone has a better idea of what is going on with your setup. |

He's talking about a Brinly "Y" style adapter.
I am not sure that there is anything you can do about it wanting to swing that far, outside of modifying it...... You say it swings 90 deg. I'm wondering if either the hitch on the plow is worn, or maybe even the adapter. I don't think they were supposed to let it swing that far. |

Here are some pictures of the early system to control side movement.
Here is a picture on stabilizer plates: The early sleeve hitch attachments were only a single hole set up. This set up may be able to be modified to work on a 3 hole sleeve hitch system. You best bet is to find a single hole plow or a newer style sleeve hitch. Here is a picture of the later style stabilizer plate: The one on the right is a Brinly stabilizer plate. The one on the left is one I made. Keep up posted if you try making a set of stabilizer plates.

thanks
im new on here so im not sure on the picture posting. the plow is a factory brinly plow hitch. the wishbone old style hitch like in the picture above is what I got. there is about 3/8 inch of gap in front of the sleeve hitch to the brinly hitch when it is mounted . this lets the plow move sideways to either side.i made a l shaped bracket to take up the slack. I know there had to be a better setup from the factory. thanks for the help

plow set up
merk the pictures of your plow looks like a nice setup.my plow hitch is the newer 3 hole hitch. I guess the old hitch needs a old plow.i made a l shape bracket with a hole for the pin. it stops most of the side movement.if we every get out of this drought ill try to plow with it.thanks

Dale,
I did not know that there were sway blocks made for that style of hitch. Cool! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
