451/450 Snowthrower on 2182

When you have the plow angled it doesn't take much to push the tractor sideways. With the blade straight these tractors will push a lot of snow.

Jibber your set up looks good. I have used a 451 on my 2084 for a bunch of years now. I have a gravel driveway so I have set my blower as high as possible by lowering the skids. Your drive looks like it is paved which allows you to keep the whole thing lower to the pavement. I love my blower till I have to blow into the wind. I do like that there is no snow bank along the edges of my driveway that you get with a blade. Any time I have used a blade the next day the wind blew and drifted my driveway shut again. You should have more than enough power to take care of the piles the road plow leave as I get them too. I try to blow the roadside upstream of the plow so it does not leave so much but that may not work for you either.

Yes, I have had a similar experience with my 682 with snow blade. It is fun to use though. I have an MTD walk behind snowblower that my mom gave me last summer after my grandmother passed away and used it last year so I know how well the snowblowers work. Am looking forward to using my 2182 though. Hopefully we get a blizzard this year but probably not likely.

Yes, I have it lowered close to the ground. I think there is about a 1/8"-1/4" gap between the ground and the bottom of the blower. If you ever come to State College let me know and you can stop by and check it out.

Yes I do make it there on occasion. Busy hunting now though. Will be pretty free after late muzzleloader season the second week of Jan.

I made a wooden triangular skid with casters to hold the snow blower. The skid is easy to move around and the correct height to allow snowblower mounting to the tractor without lifting and pulling. I'm getting to old to lift and yank at cold heavy steel things. My young helpers are gone chasing their own life interests.

I also use a dolly to move mine too. Bought it at Harbor Freight.
