Love the idea of moving the lift cylinder from center, to rear. My 149 came with front blade, that has really messed up the front axle mount, and puts too much strain on all the steering parts. I've been contemplating modifying it for a rear mount. And you have given me some more ideas. Thanks, for the details with pics.

updating an old thread...

i just finished up rebuilding my 3 point. i got a bit carried away the other day pulling my trailer around (500LBS tongue weight) and i hit a hole in the yard. well that led to the top bar that ties everything together bending. it was 1" schedule 40 pipe. So, i got out the band saw and chopped it all up. i replaced the pipe with 1'' sold round bar. the mounts went from 1/4'' to 3/4'' with grease fittings and i added a second lift cylinder. it gained 21lbs which brings it right to 75lbs. hope to test it out tomorrow.

Default Sleeve hitch adapter for trailer.

Nice work on the three point hitch, looks really good.
Here's a little adapter I just made for my sleeve hitch so I don't have to take it off when towing a trailer or something. Someone before me put a ball in the other hitch, I imagine the hole is pretty big.

attached the 3 point today and tried it out. the lift capacity has doubled, picks up my trailer with ease now. the down pressure is great too. dropped the ripper in the ground and it lifted the back of the tractor up. im adding a suitcase weight bar to the ripper to counter that.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
