Default Cub Cadet 1415 Drive Issue - HELP!

Hi All, New to the forum and need some help.

I have a Cub model 1415 with 38" cutting deck. Last year my trans drive belt snapped while I was running and I grabbed the correct replacement belt and installed it. After installing it, I cannot get the tractor to stop when I press in the clutch pedal, it just keeps moving. I tried adjusting the belt and checking and checking the belt routing to no avail. I love this mower and would like to be able to actually use it. Any thoughts or insight????????

Thanks for your help OCC!

Welcome to OCC.
Someone will be along with knowlege of that model to help.
It sounds like either the belt is too short or the routing is not right over the "idlers" as they need to slack the belt off to allow it to stop.
Is it the correct factory belt?
Might try dropping the deck and getting under it for a good look see, while you actuate the clutch ( with engine not running)!!

Thanks! I will wait patiently!

It is the correct factory belt. It certainly has enough slack as when the clutch is depressed it is very loose, but still grabs somehow. I've double and triple checked the routing and can not honestly see another way to route it.
I haven't had the deck on since late last season when the issue originally occurred and have spent many hours underneath the mower.

ok, on those type of drives ( again no experience with your model)
usually there is a guard so to speak, on the engine pulley or driven pulley, also
Sometimes fingers on the idlers to keep the belt from engaging the pulleys to keep it stopped, while the clutch mechanism is depressed, are those there? did you forget to put them back on?
-----just some suggestions.

I'm thinking you have it routed over a belt guide or something else that is not letting the belt get slack enough to slip. Do a visual check of your routing and see if the belt is really close to any guides/brackets that are slightly altering its path. See if one edge or face of the belt has a wear mark--would indicate what side is hitting something.

Best I can do for you is a pic of the drive belt routing. I can e-mail it to you so that you can enlarge the pic. If you want it PM me your e-mail address.

Go here:
http://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-c...-147087/drive/

It is a parts diagram.
I see #2 and # 43 are they there and the belt routed properly.
You have to figure out why it is not slack enough.
Is it routed like the diagram shows?

Did you measure the old belt with the new one? sometimes "$hit" happens and you get a wrong belt or it is not a factory belt and a bit short.
it sez the belt it 1/2x 91" long is it?
Best I can do without being there.
Edit:
Sam types faster than I Ha,LOL!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
