Default Cadet 1330 heating problem?
I have a 1330 Cub Cadet tractor with the Kohler engine. I started up fine it will move for about two minutes then it starts losing all forward and reverse motion slowly I did notice back below the battery on top of transmission there should be some kind of fan apparently the people before me has let the battery drop down into it and bust off all the blades , will that cause my problem if the rear ended or transmission heats up because when I shut it off and let the mower cool down I can start it back up for just a little bit till It gets warm then loses all power and the transmission again , I am stumped !

If it stops working after about two minutes then I highly doubt the fan is the issue, there's no way it would get hot enough in that short amount of time. Does the rearend leak fluid at all?

Belt slippage is my guess......

Tim is right. No way it heats up that fast and stops working.... unless it's out of oil, or the hydro is just completely shot.

When my rear went out on the 1720, that's exactly how it acted. Then finally it wouldn't move at all. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...

No leaks , and no belt slippage, tranny does get hot , what kind of fluid do I use in it ?
