Haban sub frame & mule drive problem.
Ok I have a complete carriage for my 2182, i bought another because the subframe was kinda messed up. So the one i just received is a little different. I was told by the dealer i bought it from its the correct one but i just dont know these darn mower decks. So the one that came with my 2182 has 5" front pulleys and the new one has 4" pulleys. The hangers are shorter. And the tube on the back side dosent have the hole through it. So im frigin lost. I sent the guy the sn ofd my deck and my tractor model. so did the PO have the wrong one or the one i just bought is right.

OK you have the early style Haban. It would have had the small pulleys on the mule drive. This is what the whole thing should look like.

If your 2182 has the 6" PTO then I would use the larger mule drive pulleys along with the larger driven pulley for the deck. I did the same thing on my 2182 with the older style deck.

I converted my older style Haban like the one you have to use the larger pulleys. I use the larger mule pulleys on both of my Habans. You can change the center driven pulley on the deck, the part number is 756-3057.
First 3 pics are of the older deck, mule drive and lift carriage last 3 pics are of the newer style setup.

2182 w/ Haban 60" Deck and Mule Drive
Ok guy's
I am brand new here on the forum and looking for advice. My 2182 w/ 60" Haban deck has been giving me fits since last season. Eats the mule drive belts, burns them, flips them over etc... I have already tried different belt types and sizes but got nowhere. I just bought a new Mule Drive from Pattons for a 2182 w/ 60" Haban deck. Removed the old mule drive and found the new one has the larger pulley's installed. Someone mentioned that you can use it but other changes have to be made? How do i know what size pulley is on the electric clutch? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I have went thru 8 belts since the end of last season lol I attached some pictures |

OK your 2182 is an early machine. It should have the small PTO that is correct for your deck. I'd put the new mule drive on with a new belt and unless you have other problems it should work.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
