Another new Pa member
Hello all, my names Jeff. I have a couple old cub projects I'm starting. Well, one I'm starting and one that's gonna be done tomorrow. And we all know tomorrow's only a day away :biggrin2.gif:
The first tractor I got about a year ago, started into it and decided the were other tractors I have that I could do a lot easier. I'll get back to it tomorrow(see tomorrow reference above). A 106 but someone replaced the 10 hp with a 12 hp. It's complete, just partially torn down. The second tractor, a 129 I got for free yesterday, turns over but won't fire. I'm gonna look at it later today if the rain stops. Much less work than the 106, and less money I'm guessing so it is gonna get done before the older one. |

Little late posting an update, but I discovered the mystery of the nonrunning 129. Open the fuel shut-off. LOL I got the tractor free from a guy who's father had passed away and he was cleaning out an outbuilding. I bought some tire chains and wheel weights from him for $50, and he threw the 129 and an Ariens sno thro snow blower in for free. He hadn't messed with the tractor at all, just tried to start it and had no luck. Runs fine now, 50 inch deck mows, but needs blades.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
