Default 682 tractor - parts or build

682 tractor.... 95% complete to be running and operating. It's missing the coil, needs a muffler, and needs the engine reinstalled. The serial number puts it as a 1982 and it appears to have a cast iron rear end.

The engine was swapped with another tractor.... This engine ran, but smoked pretty bad, and was just set back onto the 682 frame, not bolted down or anything hooked back up. Its a Series II.

It does have the grille with it and the engine heat shields.... no side panels, no deck.

Thanks

I paid $300 for one with a blown series 2, the original blown series 1, 3 qts of Hytran, 2 or 3 sets of NIB points and condenser, and a replacement deck in really good shape. I think the rear tires had been replaced, not sure. $200 would have been better, but I needed some parts and it was available local. Oh yeah, alum. rear.

Those John Deere wheels kill the value.

We have a $100, a $200 and a $300 value. Average them out = $200. Not a lot of rare in this one.

Read my post again, I got a whole lot more than what is being offered for sale. With the missing parts and no good mower deck, $200 is a little pricey, unless you have a buyer "in need". Maybe the cast iron rear will help a bit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
