that is EXACTLY what mom used!!! and it didn't have no ball or no rubber band!! She really knew how to make that thing sing... she wouldn't stay up high... she would get down on the backs of your legs and man that thing would sting!! But I feel I am a better person now from it..

hard enough, low enough and often enough made me a good person also. I deserved every whack. Today they call it child abuse, then we called it discipline Today's children would be better off if the parents practiced it. |

My childhood home had a large patio on the back that had ten floor to ceiling sets of jalousie windows. When my sister or I misbehaved mom made one of us wash all of those windows...about 500 hundred panes! Thanks to my sister, we had the cleanest patio windows for time! I learned to keep my mouth shut early on.

Hear few on the list! The toy you talk about George is a "Bolo" but my 5' mom never need one. She can hit you like a baseball bat coming from nowhere, I saw her fighting neighbors woman in the street , no one except her can touch his kids! Been from a family of 12 children's you learn fast what the word "Ingenuity" mean since we never live in luxury and need to figure a way out of everything! This bring me great memory and ton's of story's but I live that in the closet and thank Sam for posting this.

I feel like kind of a youngin here, at 38... but when I was in elementary school in the 80's I remember going down to the principals office to get a whoopin several times, before they stopped spanking in school. He had an old well worn converse all star shoe in his desk drawer, and boy did that thing sting! I did nothing for my behavior, I just couldn't help myself. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child (I may still be a child at heart...). At home, my dad took about a 16" piece of 1x4 oak and carved a handle on one end of it. That was a stinger too. I got in trouble in school, notes sent home, and got re-punished at home. Now my kids do stuff, and my wife thanks ME for it, because she knows my history.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
