Not sure what shape this thing is in, but it doesn't look too beat from the photos, it's functional and $75, and it looks like it's pretty much complete.

I've got a 125 and a 127, and aspirations to eventually get a decent 782 or 982 some day, so this seems like something I should pick up, even if I can't use it in the short term.

I'm not afraid to fab up some arms, especially if it's just bar stock with some holes cut in them. A good excuse to fire up the plasma cutter

Is the pulley a bespoke thing for these snowblowers, or something I can pick up/modify from somewhere?

I wasn't the OP but I gave 50 for mine. After I got it home I got to looking. It was originally for a narrow frame, someone widened it to fit a wide frame. The pulley is for a narrow frame. (No biggie there). But it looks like it's otherwise an OG QA-36...not an "A" or "B". So the plot thickens a bit. May just try to recoup my cash back and look for a 2 stage

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
