If you have the pto and basket pulley off, the numbers should be cast into that end of the block.
I'm sure Lew will have a drive cup that will fit your engine. |

It says k301a on the tin, and I only saw "A/6" stamped on the block

Was told this engine came off a case (222 I think) and looking on google it looks like those were hydros, could that be why I can't find a matching drive cup for this flywheel? Could I use the smaller flywheel off my k241 on the k301 until I can find the right parts that I need? Or would it be ok to drill a 1/4" deep hole in the flywheel and k241 drive cup to put in a "pin"? Sorry for really beating this post to death lol, really just need to get this thing going so I can plow my driveway 😅

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
