106 Starter-generator.
My Cub won't start, due to the S/G is starting to spin to slowly. Do I attempt to rebuild with one of those kits I see on youtube? It's a serious question.
It only started to spin slowly, recently. It's all original! Again, thanks. Kevin |

How old is the battery? Condition of the cables and connections? You sure it's the S/G?
I'd take it to a shop. Not that it's hard.... but at least my local shop doesn't charge hardly anything to do it. Even I usually just take them to a shop. If you don't have a way to turn the commutator, or check the windings, it's worth it to take it to a shop where they can. |

Make sure on both cables, that each each is clean, bright, and tight. This includes the cables and the connecting points (ie: grounds).

Got a call from shop, they have tested S/G with V/R and works as it should on their testing machine.
Will attempt to pickup this week and install soon! Still just a toy to remember what real Kohlers sound like, or should! Thanks Gents! Kevin |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
