Default Reverse not fully working! On a XT1 Cub Cadet

I have a XT1 Cub Cadet and there is a problem. When I depress the reverse pedal it does not always want to back up. Seems to be a low fluid level in the hydrostatic drive. Anyway to check it of replenish the fluid? If so, what would I even use and how would I check it to begin with??

Suggestions????

Can it even be done?

The drive belt seems to be in good shape, not frayed or cut.

If it is still under warranty, I would bring it to the dealer, otherwise I do not have an answer.

If it goes fine forward, then it shouldn't be a belt or fluid issue. Sounds like a linkage issue to me--or something internal with the transmission. If its under warranty, I'd send it to the dealer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
