3 pt. Cat 0 Tiller identity?
The tiller belongs to a friend and I would like to identify it so I can better search for one. I was with my friend when he bought it 20 + years ago. We were at a Cub Cadet dealer and told it was part of a trade in package on a new Cub. The dealer said he had no info on it. It looked new at the time, no tags on it and painted a red color with a hint of maroon. I thought maybe Wheel Horse but not sure. I read on this forum IIRC that only a couple of companies built them but they were rebadged to others.
KRUST and A160 appear on a casting. That's it, any help will be appreciated. Steve |

Looks like a 42" Snapper/Massey Ferguson
Not sure if built by MF or other. But better price out cost of, or availability of replacement tines and other wear parts as they can be pricey if available. Might want to shop around for a new tiller. |

No, but it is certainly made by the same company that made tillers for IH!
I really think there was only one company that made them all, as all the GT or SGT tillers of that era are made identically. Steve, that is a Massey Ferguson 4250 tiller. P1010110.JPGP1010112.JPG |

Thanks to all for the input. I'm not finding any of this style for sale.
J-Mech, are you saying Massey Ferguson was the one Company that built them? Great picture of the MF, is that one of your tractors? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
