Default Rear PTO Build on a 1712

Just bought some parts to a super garden tractor rear pto. I think that I can mount it onto my 1712. What I need to now from some of you guy's that have a super with the rear pto is. Were are the studs at on the plate to mount the double pully hub and idler at. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks Matt

You will have to obtain the Rear Cover Plate that has the studs mounted to it.

Thanks Roland Bedell fo the info.

It took me a very long time to find the parts that I have and a lot of luck. I don't think it will hold out for a rear plate. I might be lucky but not that lucky. I have a lot of .25 inch plate steel and was just plan to build it out of that. Just thought that there might be someone out there with a super that is plainning to replace the oil in there rear and could take some measurements for me. I will even say please and thank you for the info. hahaha!!!! :biggrin2.gif: I got the installation instructions to and it has a few pictures that I can use to take a guess if I need to. If I'm close then I think that I will be ok. Any info or insight will be more then welcome.

The way people have talk about the rear pto. There is few out there that are not on tractor and the owner would not part with them. But if someone do have parts to a rear pto I might be willing to talk to you about sale or trade. Thanks Matt

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
