Default 782D LED swap

What a difference-- I'll let you guess which is the LED bulb, but I can tell you that I had to throttle up the diesel to about half throttle to keep the Ammeter in neutral or + a bit on the 2X Incandescent , whereas with 2x LED, at idle. the Ammeter doesn't move (stays slightly positive) when the headlights are switched on.

Got 'em off Amazon with free ship. They weren't a lot of money . We'll see how reliable they are !

Happy Cubbing
John

PAR36 seems to be the industry designation for that type of bulb( 36W). I saw several types of LED PAR36. There's one type with about 8 large LEDs, and one with about 30 smaller LED. I picked the latter as I wanted the light more distrbuted across the face of the bulb. Mine was advertised as 9W, which is only one fourth of the power the incandescent .

The 36 actually indicates the diameter of the light. It is 36/8 of an inch, which is 4.5".

Lance, That's a fantastic unit of measure! Kind of like fempto fortnights! Thanks for the info I learned one thing new today. They are stamped 36w (and made in USA!) .

Jay ::I'll get a picture of the units with the lights off in the next day or so (sun is going down and it's already shady out there and the mosquitoes after Florence are horrendous!

Assuming they haven't carried off the 782D I'll post some pix here

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
