Carb Choices for K241
I have been trying to start up the Cub Cadet 100. Throttle shaft on carb seems really loose and wobbly so for the sake of winter and getting my machine up and running asap, I think I'm going to shoot for a replacement carburetor. Would either of these be a recommended buy? I am capable of modifying the throttle linkage to fit either model by way of machining if necessary. Just need my new cub up and running asap so I can push snow. Already had 15" of snow and it's not even mid december yet!

You want to make sure to get one with the two different choke shafts. Because in my experience they always come with one installed that is backwards and wont work with the choke cable in these tractors. So you swap out the choke shaft and it works. Be careful to not lose the little ball in the choke shaft hole. When you pull out the choke shaft it will pop out because it has a spring behind it.

Depending on how loose it is you might be able to just buy the throttle shaft. My brothers JD had the throttle so worn it was oval shaped. Replaced the throttle shaft and took 75% of play out of it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
