Hydro creep at shut down
I have repaired the trunion, adjusted for neutral and tightened the tensioner on the hand lever and solved all of the issues associated with those items.
However I am still getting a creep or loud whine from the hydro if the brake is set and the engine is idled down or shut off. Is something still slightly out or is this another issue? I know one of the relief valves is weeping around the button, would that cause this issue? |

I have had the same issue. Was resolved by adjusting the hydro a bit more.

Thanks. Would that be adjusting on the cam pivot plate some more?

There is a bushing in the damper plate that may have some wear and causing problems.
It's number 8 on this page : https://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/...0-A/0020100014 I had that problem with my 149. It was next to impossible to find neutral. Replace the bushing and neutral is easy to find.

There is an easy way to check: grab the damper plate and try to move is sideways while engine is running. If the speed changes the bushing may need replaced.

My 149 had the same problem you are having. I was able to move my damper plate side ways by grabbing the end towards the front of the tractor. The bushing was at least half gone when I fix it.
Double check the pin on the damper plate....it may have some wear.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
